First, thank you for including one of my pieces in your collection of thoughts and reflections. I am honored friend.

Second, I’m going to have to sit with this sentiment for a while to see what it means to me in practice:

“…I do not want to be at war in and with this world…Instead, I want to be in relationship with this world.”

How do I war with myself, those I love and this world as a whole?

Apathy would bring the ruination of humanity. For when we are apathetic to the value of a human life, there is nowhere to go but down, all of us to a wasteland of individualism and scorn. Powerful reminder here.

It's true that feeling multiple emotions is not only normal but necessary for true connection and understanding. Interesting perspective, Eniafe! Your question at the end of the article asking if we're okay with the way things are and what we can do to move towards a better relationship with the world—makes us think about how we handle tough situations.

Thank you for these words, and for this definition of reckoning. I've been reckoning with this world, and the state of it, by continuing to create and connect with my humanity. Not despite the atrocities we're witnessing our 🍉 brothers and sisters go through, but as an act, a dance, against all the hatred and apathy.
