(words from the archive, April 19, 2022)
my mind has been drumming over the word vessel lately. and when i say drumming i mean that the cerebrum feels almost like fingertips, and it begins to move itself over and across the word almost as if it can feel it, as if the word is transcribed across my mind in brail...
so, my mind, doing this drumming, has led me to re-trace my thoughts on the understanding of the word vessel and what i have found is, i have always thought of it mostly as a container, only. an object with the sole purpose of holding. what i have overlooked is that given its purpose there is also the need for it to be held, supported. because the thing about the vessel, the cup, the container, is that it, in and of itself requires its own care, its own space, and has its own needs. needs which must be met in order to hold that which it may have been created to maintain or receive.
.
may we take more care of our vessels... _ ẹniafẹ isis
